The Photographs Of
Sir Cecil Beaton

with an introduction by
Andrew Sproxton

Up for auction is "The Photographs of Sir Cecil Beaton", conceived by and with an introduction by Andrew Sproxton, and designed by Val Williams.  This 32 page soft-cover book measures approximately 7 by 9 inches in size.  It has shiny gold paper wrappers, with a photograph of Jean Cocteau on the front cover.  There are blank end-papers, and I believe that this catalog was published by The Arts Council of Great Britain, in 1973.  The book marks an exhibition of over 100 photographs taken by Sir Cecil Beaton during a 60 year period of time, which was first shown at the Impressions Gallery of Photography, Shambles, York, Great Britain, in June and July of 1973.  Include with the book are two photographs by Andrew Sproxton, of several of Cecil Beaton's photographs that were displayed at that exhibition.

Internally, the book is in great, vintage condition,  with no missing or torn pages, no writing on any of the pages, and hardly any soiling and wear.  However, there is rubbing to the gold of the wrappers, and diagonal creases to the bottom outside corner of the front cover.  The photographs are in great vintage condition as well, although one photograph does have warping along the entire bottom edge, where there is printing by the photographer.

At this time and over the next few months I will be selling my entire collection of Cecil Beaton books, a few of which are autographed.  If this listing is of interest to you, please check out these other items as well.

Terms:  All sales final.  Paypal only.  I will ship USPS mail.  The shipping and handling charges are for the continental United States only.  All others must wait for a revised invoice with additional charges for air mail service.

Thank you for looking.  If you have any questions or would like additional information or pictures, please e-mail me as I would be happy to provide additional details.  Please note that all items being sold come from a smoke-free and pet-free home.  I am not a professional dealer, and am simply downsizing after years of collecting.  I try very hard to accurately list and describe the condition of each item that I sell, and can appreciate the frustration of receiving an item that is not as described.  Being human, I will occasionally make a mistake, and may miss a flaw or imperfection that would leave one dissatisfied with their purchase.  If this occurs, and you feel that the item you receive is not as described, please contact me immediately.  My goal is that each individual who buys from me is happy with their purchase.
