Description

This is for a fantastic antique signed Paris Mfg. Co. wooden child's chair that was made in South Paris, Maine. It has a worn dark stain. Wonderful form & well made. Backside of back rest has carved initials "JC."  If you Google the Paris Mfg. Co. it shows as still in business in Maine. Although, it has changed names to "Paricon" & only sells sleds now. They bought out Flexible Flyer sleds. Paricon now imports its sleds from China, where as this fabulous chair was handmade in Paris, Maine long ago.

It measures approximately 21 1/2 inches total height. Height from floor to seat is 10 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches widest width of seat with a seat depth of 9 inches & 11 inches height of back rest only.

It is in good condition with expected scattered wear & use marks. Old dark stain has lots of age related surface crackle. One side dowel brace is absent but legs are solid & stable. When chair is sitting on flat surface has ever so slight teeter totter. Please see all pictures for more details.

This is a great piece of furniture that has wonderful history to Maine & has withstood the test of time due to its craftsmanship. When the Paris Mfg. Company was in business & making all of their own products the motto was to make each product "the best that it can be.” This chair is a fine example of the original Paris Mfg. Company's motto!!!!
