It has the 2 1/2" center hole because this one is for the older 2 piece rear main seal (55-85) and will  NOT  fit the newer (86-97) One piece rear main seal engine  flywheel with a 2" center hole. It will fit the 400 Turbo Tranny or 700R4, Has 6 holes near the outer ring for torque converter bolts.
