Depicted as a squat, childlike figure with a large head, he was linked to craftsmanship, similar to the god Ptah, and was sometimes considered a manifestation of him. Pataikos was commonly portrayed holding knives or standing on crocodiles, symbolizing his power to subdue dangerous animals and ward off evil spirits. Amulets bearing his image were popular among Egyptians, especially for children and pregnant women, as he was believed to offer protection against illness, misfortune, and malevolent forces. As a guardian figure, Pataikos played a crucial role in personal protection and magical practices, reflecting the ancient Egyptians' deep belief in divine guardianship and the power of protective deities.
