Astro Hog - Laser-cut Rib & fuselage former Set
This is not a full kit. No plan is included, and additional materials will be required to finish the model.
Astro Hog. Classic RC stunt model. It is the legendary model that got RC aerobatics off the ground in the late 1950s. The first successful low-wing RC model, it took the top four places at the 1958 Nationals. The classic Astro Hog design first appeared in MAN in April 1958 and was kitted by Berkeley and SIG Manufacturing.
This rib set is based on the Fred Dunn Astro Hog plan as originally printed in MAN. From Model Airplane News issue 04-58 (OZ969)
Given the large 72" / 12" wing chord design, the material content is high. Even though it's a parallel chord wing, cutting these ribs and fuselage formers by hand is particularly complicated and time-consuming. The sandwich method won't work to produce these ribs!
Model specification:
2-Stroke .40 - .60 cu. in. (6.5 - 10.0 cc)
4-Stroke .60 - .80 cu. in. (10.0 - 13.1 cc)
The following 59 quality laser-cut parts in hand-selected materials are included in the box.
