Rare Victorian rotating / swivel mourning brooch featuring a hand painted portrait under glass on one side and hair on the other side.

There is so much to say about this special piece. The brooch is original to which a more modern safety chain has been added for extra security against loss. The glass on front and back is original. There is a nice arrangement of strawberry blonde hair on the reverse.  The portrait is painted on a flat disc of glass which is set under the window of glass on the front of the piece. 

The locket is fully reversible due to the swivel / rotate design.  The gold filled brooch measures 1 5/8 inches wide. It is in good pre owned condition with some signs of wear / patina. 

A unique treasure!
