This cover commemorates the launch of Pioneer V , the "Sun Rocket", which was the 1st satellite to be fired to an orbit inside the earth's orbit. This satellite was launched by a Thor-Able rocket combination into a sun orbit inside earth's own orbit around the sun. The satellite gave man his 1st detailed data about the vast magnetic fields, clouds of charged particles and many kinds of radiation and meteoric dust in the depths of space. This is an important event in space exploration history. This scarce cover was prepared by Highway Stamp Club of Revere, Mass and cancelled on launch date. HSC only made covers for a few early cover events and are quite scarce. C/V=$150
