Debuting at the opening round of the 1988 Brazilian Grand Prix, this car was equipped with a highly efficient V6 twin-turbo engine. Despite the handicap of a 150-liter fuel limit and a turbo pressure cap of 2.5 bar, it delivered more power and better fuel efficiency than the unrestricted 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engines of its time.
Its compact and efficient chassis design, combined with exceptional performance, demonstrated remarkable competitiveness. With legendary drivers Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna at the helm, the car achieved an astounding 15 wins out of 16 races. In the final year of the turbocharged F1 era, it dominated the competition and earned its place as a championship-winning machine.
