This digital photo painting features Amanita muscaria, a species of mushroom known for its distinctive red cap with white spots. The iconic mushrooms, called Fliegen Pilz in German, are often depicted in folklore and fairy tales. These particular mushrooms were discovered on a hike near Germany‘s famed black forest.

Fliegen Pilz mushrooms are associated with spiritual experiences and shamanic ceremonies in some cultures. They are also linked to myths and traditions, especially in Northern and Eastern European folklore.

While they’re super interesting to look at, these fairy mushrooms are toxic and can cause adverse effects if ingested. They also contain psychoactive compounds, which can induce altered states of consciousness, hallucinations, and delirium.
