This is a vintage 1950's handmade light blue and silver brocade dress with a matching jacket. The dress features a baby blue color with intricate silver thread floral brocade and detailing. It embodies the style of the 1950-60s era, adding a touch of retro charm to any wardrobe. The woman who sold it to me was smoking at the time and although it was clean and aired out I imagine it would likely smell a bit smokey still as I have not laundered it again since acquiring it from the estate sale. She also insisted that it was a wedding dress but it is clearly a party/cocktail length and probably Asian. It is definitely handmade and too big to fit my size 6 mannequin (I had to clip the back so the pictures look like a good fit) with a lot of room so that size 8 it 10 is a good estimate for size. The jacket is lined but the dress is not. Of course if you need a larger size dress I would suggest sacrifice of the jacket to put darts in the dress and in fact the swing style jacket would be equally nice as a bolero jacket if you still want a jacket. The huge buttons are carved mother of pearl shells. Perfect for those who appreciate vintage fashion and unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Last picture is close-up of the beautiful fabric so you can hopefully tell how shiny and truly pretty it is.
