Newton CDM 508 Mesh is a BBA certified Type C cavity drain waterproofing system that includes 40m2 of membrane per roll and a specially designed range of tapes, fixing plugs and ancillaries. The woven mesh lath on the inside face allows for direct plastering or rendering.

Newton 508 (8mm stud depth) membranes are suitable for use internally above or below the ground to retaining walls, vaulted soffits and floors.

Why Use The Newton Cavity Drain Membrane System?

The Newton CDM system does not seek to hold back water pressure. Water is controlled and managed by the depressurisation spaces created by the studs on the membrane. The membranes do more than provide a dry inner skin to separate the wet substrate and dry interior, with the studs acting more like stilts to allow for this natural movement of water rather than a pressure-resisting barrier. The draining of the water away from the system is therefore vitally important, and if designed correctly is the safest method of waterproofing available.
