Over the years, the colors and precision has drifted a little with subsequent reprints. In the end of 2019, this new edition was released with all colors recalibrated, new sleeve specifications, fabric cover, and end papers. This limited edition has only 300 pieces printed and includes the gold patterned sleeve case, hard back with scarlet cloth, black end paper. Book is dark gray silk. This book is widely popular as a collection of Yamamoto’s masterpieces. While carrying on the traditions of Edo Ukiyoe and Bishounen (beautiful youth) painting, it sublimates the romanticism of Pre-Raphaelite and European fantasy art of the fin de siècle as well as the sensuality and perversion of bondage and misery paintings.
