#4098  This beautiful specimen of chrysocolla  and malachite comes from the Republic of the Congo.  Chrysocolla is the blue mineral, and it is a hard mineral which contains some quartz.  It is valuable because of its beautiful color, and its hardness allows the stone to be cut into jewelry pieces.  The malachite is generally shades of green and often has banding and sometimes has small "eye" formations.

This specimen is 100% polished on all sides.  This specimen is more or less flat but it has an attached circular part that sits on top.  This circular part is about 1 inch in diameter.  This specimen is unique in its shape and It would make a nine specimen for your collection. This is a very beautiful and interesting piece.
