This is an original Grasshopper Floor Lamp, initially designed by Greta Magnusson Grossman for Bergborn in 1947. This example was produced in Sweden ca. 1948. The lamp retains its original blue paint, and functions properly. It has a tubular steel tripod stand which is tilted backward, and a conical steel shade that is mounted to a movable joint. The light is able to be pointed where you need it, allowing directional movement. The wiring appears to be original to the piece. This lamp was purchased from the estate of the original owner, and the family recalls this lamp being purchased prior to 1955.
The piece measures 17.72 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 59.27 inches high. There are some scrtches and scuffs on the metal. Overall, this lamp is in very good original condition. Please see photos.
