Chinese Porcelain ‘Famille Rose’ Vase. Qing Dynasty:

Title: Chinese Porcelain 'Famille Rose' Vase. Qing Dynasty. 18th C.

Overview: We are pleased to present this exceptionally important museum quality Chinese Porcelain Vase, elegantly styled in the 'Famille Rose' pattern of the Qing dynasty, crafted as a decorative ware by a highly skilled Qing Dynasty artisan. The vase is a superb example of the Qianlong "Pink" color palette referred to as ‘Famille Rose’, used to decorate Chinese Porcelain from the early 18th century. The artistry produced during this period was amazing with highly detailed subject matter.
xxxx Items like this were popular among Qing dynasty literati elites, and Chinese masters as ceremony practitioners of the period. This particular vessel must have been used during ritual ceremonies, as a storage vessel of wine or grain, and possibly created to be used by the departed in the afterlife.
Description: An exquisite example contoured in a bulbous shape, with an inverted rim, delicately carved with a long neck, and elaborately decorated in ‘Famille Rose’ and underglazed cobalt blue to black wash, with parallel bands containing crisply painted courtyard Mandarin figures in a continuous scene. They are depicted standing in various poses, gathering for tea and trifle conversation, and surrounded by an enchanted flower garden. The landscape scenery of the tree foliage, mugho pine, and chrysanthemum flowers set adjacent to a stone wall and driftwood table are beautifully decorated in variety of overglazed enamel colours in a light and almost transparent glaze.
xxxx The base of the vase bears an iron-red six-character seal mark and reign period of Qianlong (1736-1795) Qing Dynasty.
xxxxThe vessel is in excellent condition. It is indeed a magnificent and tasteful Chinese Porcelain from the Qing dynasty and should not be missed by any serious collector of fine Chinese works of art.
