Up for auction is a great example of a Garuda mythological goddess/winged deity typically handcarved in Thailand, Indonesia, and Bali. These bird creatures portray a mix of human and eagle, features from Hindu mythology. It represents birth, heaven, and the enemy of snakes.

As these have been crafted for centuries, dating is difficult, however based on the patina it appears quite old.

The deity is mounted on its original base to which thin felt has been applied on the bottom to protect surfaces.
