Robert Calix (1919/2008) immersed himself in painting in the 1950s. Within a group of artist friends, he began to paint, drawing his inspiration from the cubist dynamic initiated by Picasso and Braque.
It was at the beginning of the 70s that Robert Calix held his first exhibitions in France (Monaco, Deauville-Trouville). In the 80s and 90s, he exhibited in Japan and the United States.
The artist continued to paint until the end of his life and died in 2008. His style is marked by the avant-gardes of the 20th century: Cubism, Surrealism, and abstraction to which he associates his own poetry.
