This is an armless two-seater tuxedo settee / sofa, designed by Davis Allen and Gordon Bunshaft of SOM Architects. This example appears to be a Thonet production, one of the manufacturers who produced these sofas and lounge chairs for SOM projects, among others. It has tufted black upholstery, and has square polished-steel tubular legs. It is marked with a foil tag from Bowling Green University, likely commissioned for use in the Mathematical Sciences Building, which was completed in 1970 by Richards, Bauer & Moorhead architects.

The settee measures 27 inches long, 55 inches wide, and 32 inches high. It has a seat height of 16.5 inches. The fabric is slightly faded, but is complete with no holes. There are some light scuffs and scratches on the legs. Overall, this piece is in very good condition. It could be used as/is or reupholstered. Please see photos.
