Contraindication
1. Patients who are suffering from acute inflammation, hemorrhagic
tendency, arrhythmia and epilepsy;
2. People who have metal piece or cardiac pacemaker within their
bodies;
3. People with craniocerebral injury or maxillo-facial injury recently;
4. Patients with brain tumor, meningitis or acute cerebrovascular
stroke.
How does EmeTerm works?
1. EmeTerm attached to the wrist via electrode pads, delivers signal
through the median nerve at the location on the underside of the wrist.
2. The impulses target the vomiting center of the brain to modulate its output.
3. The vomiting signal to the gastric intestinal system is inhibited, reducing the nauseous response for its users.
Tips for effective use
1. EmeTerm gradually generates electrical impulses during the first two minutes. A mild or lack of tingling sensation during this period does not mean the device is not functioning, rather the impulse is still below the stimulation threshold of the nerve fibers.
2. It is essential to use water or wet paper towel to clean and degrease the skin and electrodes that will be in contact with the skin.
3. Strap the device tight enough to ensure good skin-electrode contact during treatment.
4. Under low temperature and low moisture environments (winter), it is recommended to initiate treatment at least 10 minutes earlier than any nausea-inducing activity.
5. Under humid environments or for those with sensitive skin, it is recommended to switch the wrist wearing the device every 30 minutes.
Adverse reactions
If skin irritation (redness, itchiness, rashes, or blisters) occurs under the contact area with the electrodes, switch the device to the other wrist. If irritation does not resolve within 24 hours, stop using the device and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
