Latimer, Jonathan - Murder in the Madhouse - Doubleday: New York, 1935 - First Edition / First Printing - “First Edition” stated on the copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition.
The book has stains, rubbing, a crease on the front board, and some soiling internally. The boards are still reasonably straight, the green design on the spine is legible and pleasing, binding is square, and internally there is no writing or stamps. The dust jacket is supplied from a triangle edition. The dust jacket has rubbing, soiling, small nibbles along the edges, and general wear. While not original it is doing a good job at protecting the book and the front panel mimics the art work of the long missing original jacket. A pleasing and presentable copy of a scarce Hard Boiled crime title. This is the first novel in the Private Investigator William Crane series for which Latimer will always be best known.
