Description

This is a very RARE  original 1815  Military medal from the Battle of Waterloo , the 92nd Gordon Highlanders. There are very few surviving medals from this battle, and to find one in such excellent condition is very unusual. We have left the natural tarnish stay on the medal as opposed to cleaning it- but even with the tarnish you can see how amazingly well this medal is preserved. The  top metal placard  has  Waterloo  and June 18th , 1815  imprinted on it.
As with all of these Waterloo military award medals this is also engraved with the recipient warrior's name on the edge. Our photography is poor but we did try to show the name: Patt Carlton  and the  Ist I A T  92nd Highlanders that is imprinted on the side.
The Highlander 92nd were fierce  fighters at Waterloo and there is considerable historic reports about them.
These  medals are rare, and even rarer are ones from the 92nd Highlanders.
The approximate measurements are :
Diameter of medal: 35.5 mm ( 1.4 inches)
Height of placard, ribbon and medal in total. 165 mm (6.5 inches)

If you need additional measurements or information please inquire.
