the late 1960s, the army introduced a new field jacket, the M65. This
jacket was to replace the existing M-51 and M43 field jackets, from the
Korean War era, and World War II, respectively. The M65 field jacket was
used throughout the Vietnam War, and much after. The M-65 had a
number of improvements over the existing field jackets. Among these
improvements were the built-n stowa-away hood which zips into the
collar, extra pockets, shoulder epaulets. The closure buttons were also
replaced with a brass zipper, to allow soldiers to open and close their
jackets more quickly and easily. The detachable liner was included to
