This is an NGK Iridium MAX spark plug. Part number is BPR5EIX-11P , stock number 3638.

About this product

The plug uses an iridium alloy for the center electrode, a platinum alloy for the outer electrode, and precious metals for both electrodes. In addition to the improved ignitability and fuel efficiency of the Iridium IX plug, this plug has improved durability.

NGK's unique thermo-edge, which generates micro-discharge, is designed into the tip of the insulator. Carbon adhering to the insulator due to long-time low-speed running is burned off by micro-discharge, and the ignition performance of the plug is always maintained at a high level due to its resistance to smoldering.

The extra-fine iridium alloy center electrode improves ignition performance by improving the electric field strength and generating a more powerful spark at a lower voltage. Since the spark is concentrated at the tip of the central electrode, stable combustion can always be obtained, leading to improved fuel efficiency.
