Carme Travesset
Carme Travesset Travesset (1925-2022), known as Madame Aparicio, the name of her husband, was a teacher at the French school. Laurediana by birth, but Escaldenca by adoption, she spent four years at the Encamp school, and at Escaldes-Engordany until retirement. During her career, she directed La Peletera in Escaldes. Forty years close to the Escaldenca population, with whom she forged very strong bonds. A relationship so strong that she obtained the trust of citizens during the first municipal elections open to women, in 1973. She was the first woman elected in Andorra and more specifically in the pioneer area of the territory, Escaldes-Engordany then Quart. Carme Travesset Travesset demonstrated during his life a firm civic compromise. This stamp pays tribute to Carmen Travesset i Travesset, a professor who helped build the modern Andorra we know today.
