This is technically a cake stand, or a 'tea stand', but it is also used as a side stand to hold overflow dishes.
It is a lovely piece of furniture, English c 1870, walnut, with spiralled spines.
It was made long before folding stands came into play and it is rare in that the tiers are cane--lacquered cane in a criss-cross pattern.
It is 38" high, and 16" across at the legs. Each tier is 10" across, and it has 4 curved 6" legs.
It is very well-built; it can support a lot of food and dishes but it weighs less than 5 lbs.
The
delivery charge applies to any North American address and includes
having the piece professionally packed by UPS. A Statement of Antique
Status will be provided, as will the shipping receipt. If you over-pay
for shipping at purchase, you will be refunded the difference.
