First European Games. Baku 2015
The European Games are continental sports competitions held every 4 years. They have become the European equivalent of the Pan Asian or Pan American Games. The decision to launch them was made on December 8, 2012 at the 41st General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).The postal issue is dedicated to the first European Games held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in 2015. The sheet's stamps depict the Games logo, which combines five symbols: fire, water, a phoenix bird, carpet elements and the main national fruit, the pomegranate.
