Pseudophoenix vinifera Palm Tree

Pseudophoenix vinifera Palm Tree   Pseudophoenix vinifera, commonly known as the cherry palm or wine palm, is a species of palm native to the Caribbean region, specifically to the islands of Hispaniola, shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In the past, this species was much exploited for the sweet sap that was fermented into “wine” (hence the epithet “vinifera”).   It is a solitary, monoecious plant, with a stem reaching 15-50 feet tall. It is typically grayish-brown in color and may have noticeable ring-like patterns from old leaf scars. The fruit of Pseudophoenix vinifera is small and round, resembling cherries or tiny wine grapes. When ripe, the fruit is red in color, hence the common name "cherry palm" or "wine palm".   It prefers a sunny location and well-drained soil. Drought tolerant. Very slow growing. Cold Hardiness Zone: 10a   Once established, Pseudophoenix vinifera is relatively low maintenance, requiring little care beyond regular watering and occasional fertilization. It's well-suited for tropical and subtropical climates and can thrive with minimal attention. Pseudophoenix vinifera has a distinctive and elegant appearance with its slender trunk and arching, feather-like leaves. Its beauty adds a tropical touch to any landscape or garden.     If shipping warmer options are sold out for this product please add one below...   ❄️ Winter Weather = add a Shipping Warmer! 🔥   Notes & Policies: All plants are safely shipped bare root in sterile medium.
