1870's Antique size: 6 Handmade 14k Multi-Tone Gold 3.30ct Multi-Gemstone Ring, 5.5 grams

This is an AMAZING antique ring!

Through the generations it brought to us the beauty of the American art of the jewelry making.

Seemingly light and airy, this ring was handmade in the most sophisticated method of the manufacturing available to a jewelry trade at the time.

The shank on this ring was hand cast and then all the other parts, and there were many, were hand carved mostly from solid pieces of gold.

 All the stones were bezel set, matching one another, in a beautiful harmonious way and the wonderful combination of the colors.

Each head for each stone was soldered by hand with a special solder for the time, which did have a tendency to get darker with time.

This is allowing us today to determine the age of the ring with a great precision. 

Each stone was set by hand.

Of course, it is very easy to see all the imperfections of hand work of a master jeweler, which makes this piece so much more precious. 

On the top of the ring, a rose cut sapphire was set in a beautiful handmade bezel attached by a thick gold screw, which makes this ring, for all practical purposes, basically indestructible.

 These days to make this ring in this type of a way would take a month and a very few jewelers will ever attempt to do it.

 The rope designs are separately created and soldered on. I almost forgot to tell you, with all that hardware, the ring is absolutely beautiful, sparkling with a beautiful blue hue coming from the rose cut sapphires.

A common cut for that era, and also glowing with all the beauty of the other natural cabochon gemstones. 

There is also an Imperial topaz, an Amber, a moon stone, an Emerald, a Garnet, a blue topaz, a Tiger's eye and a rhodolite Garnet, the contrast of colors is amazing.

This is a very unique piece, in deed, as fascinating as it gets.

This extraordinary ring will transcend generations.
