This is a gold tone/ gold plated / vermeil style flower brooch pin is marked with Harry Iskin mark and "120 12KGF". The classic retro with a aqua blue rhinestone flower, the brooch is in very good vintage condition. Measures: 1.5" long and 1.5" wide at the widest point. It has a working safety clasp. It weighs 0.2 oz. Very elegant and original piece of Art Deco style jewelry.
This style was the result of WWII creative necessity. Sterling silver was still available, as was gold, so the costume jewelry industry made bigger pieces in sterling or gold washed sterling, with fewer stones, or one large, gorgeous stone. Bows, floral sprays, swirls and curled ends predominate in the Retro Modern style. War-time dresses and costumes (suits) were usually drab and utilitarian.
