Large family Old Testament  Holy Bible volume 1 measuring  approx 31cms x 26cms x 6.5 cms and weighing in at over 4.1 kilos .

Full  Leather bound with gilt lettering to the spine and light cross hatched decorated boards .

 The spine leather has some light marks  , hinges are strong but there is some colour loss were the spine edge joins the board . board corners are bumped and there is a noticeable scuff mark across the front board , boards are rubbed and marked . Page edges are gilt and remain bright although a little rubbed

Endpapers are marbled  . The half title page has some loss to the bottom edge and splitting away at the top edge join . There are signs of the next page being removed , the Marriage page has a couple of entries with the rear of the page having family births written in . The deaths page has a couple of rather poignant entries . The contents page has a split edge .

 A lot of the early pages have fingermarks mostly to the margins but not exclusive to . The illustrations by Dore are full page and some have the finger marks in the margins which do not appear to be in the prints . Some page edge corners have been folded over .
