MPR stands for Microparticle Performance Rating, and it's a rating system created by 3M to measure how well an air filter can capture particles that are 0.3 to 1 micron in size. These particles are much smaller than the average human hair, which is about 70 microns in diameter. The higher the MPR rating, the more microparticles the filter can capture.
