Anne Boleyn Faux Pearl Necklace
This is a set of 3 faux pearls hanging below the initial B - the rest of the pendant is a 52cm (20inch) golden steel chain.
The Display Card Reads "This exquisite pearly necklace is a replica of the 'B' initial pendant worn by Anne Boleyn and seen in many of her portraits. Pearls were one of the most popular items of jewellery in the Tudor era and were worn by both Anne Boleyn and her daughter Queen Elizabeth I. Pearls were worn in a string or as a single pearl or a combination of both."
To this I would add that Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 as the second wife of King Henry VIII. Henry's marriage to her, and her subsequent execution by beheading, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that was the start of the English Reformation.
