Ginseng Crock - blue on white porcelain, with human-shaped ginseng root on one side, and on the other side two pudgy little oriental guys carry a giant ginseng root - leaves and flowers/berries still attached. 

On the vented lid, drawings possibly recommend its use in a double boiler.

The interior is fully glazed (unglazed rims) and holds 2-1/2 quarts.  Would make a great countertop small fermenting crock, cookie jar, canister...

Stands 6.5" tall, 7.5" in diameter and weighs a stable 4 lb 7 oz.

Has a chip on the lid underside as pointed out, plus production pits, bumps and specks.   No chips, cracks, stains, residue nor utensil marks.
