Nuremberg was the center of the German Renaissance. I was a city state oligarchy that was both progressive and famous for its judiciary. It was small in the 16th Century with a population of about 25,000.It eventually became part of Bavaria and then Germany. This thin, approximately 25 mm coin is from that era. It has creases or bends typical of the coin. The one pictured is the one for sale. It is a very rare coin with minuscule mintages for a minuscule but, but very important city state!
