a brilliant eBayer from Belgium has informed me on what this scarf is depicting, thank you so much!
The scarf reproduces a work of art by the German artist Paul Klee from 1921, now in The Guggenheim, entitled
From the Song of Songs, Version II, 1921
Ink and watercolor on paper, with watercolor on cardboard mount. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
This is a lovely estate scarf......
34" square from the Guggenheim Museum in NYC (I always enjoy those dizzying incline strolls to the top of the museum.... Suprematism/Futurist Kazimir Malevich's "Morning in the Village after Snowstorm" is my favorite in their famed collection.)...
I am afraid I do not know the artist or what in fact this scarf is depicting...it looks to be in German, however, some light Google research lead me to Munch...I am certain someone must know, and I would love to know too. Thank you.
Ultra-fine printed silk..hand-rolled plump hems. Made in Italy. I spot no flaws or faults, however, it is fine silk and estate..... no glaring runs or damage.... any areas of issue in the photos is likely where I failed to steam...such a fine and lovely piece....
