"My Favorite Summer 1956" by Mickey Mantle & Phil Pepe - 1st EDITION 1st PRINT Paperback (with full numberline) - Published in 1992 by Dell - 323 pages (16 pages of great black and white photos of the Mick and other great players of 1956 and inside both the front and back covers are an outstanding two-page team photo of the 1956 New York Yankees and the front of Mantle's 1956 Topps baseball card, and ..... the perforated bookmark is still attached to the back cover!!) - NEAR MINT condition. Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio were all elite Yankee Hall of Famers, but perhaps Mickey Mantle is the most popular Yankee of all time. His story is legendary, his Yankee career was monumental, his exploits both off and on the field are well chronicled. In this book, the Mick tells of his magical 1956 season; a season in which he hit .353, chased the Babe's single season home run record before ending with 52, drove home 130 runs and won the triple crown. In his own words, Mantle tells of his greatest all-around season. This is a fabulous chronicle of Mantle's exploits in a Yankee season which culminated in a 7-game World Series victory over the Dodgers. Can any of we oldtimers forget what happened in Game 5 of the 1956 Series?  There is only some extremely minor edge wear, but this book is in NEAR MINT condition with four sharp corners and a square spine with no reading creases.  It's virtually impossible to find this book in such pristine shape.  No collection of Mickey Mantle or New York Yankee items is complete without this outstanding book. Check out the scan for the great photo of the Mick on the cover.  You can try to buy this book for less money from one of those eBay booksellers with hundreds, if not thousands of negatives (you know the ones I refer to) and be lucky if the book is delivered to you in the stated condition (if you even get it at all), or you can buy it from me and be assured of a prompt delivery and of receiving an item true to the condition indicated.  You won't be disappointed.
