This unit is a warranty replacement unit and is new in the box and has never been used. It includes the Fusion software which can be used to create Digital Signage content. Spinetix is considered the Cadillac of Digital Signage platforms.

Overview

The HMP200™ Hyper Media Player is a Full HD, high-end digital signage device. Zero config technology and compact size allow for quick installation. Set-and-leave: Non-PC based, no moving parts and no maintenance. The HMP200 is amazingly compact so you can easily put it behind a screen. In addition, HMP200 is robust and reliable. The power consumption of an HMP200 in full action is only 7W. It’s not only better for the environment, but it’s also better for your bottom-line. When compared to a typical PC, the energy cost savings mean the HMP200 pays for itself.

With SpinetiX’s unique Fusion Software running inside the HMP200 device, you can manage information, video, audio and dynamic content (RSS, widgets) on any screen using a web browser.

Blue button

The blue button on HMP200 is multi-functional allowing to perform different operations depending on how long it is pressed and whether the player is powered on or powered off during that time - like trigger OSD information, shut down, reset to factory default settings, force Recovery mode, etc.

See Blue button page for more details.

LED

The player has three diagnostic LEDs: PWR (power), SYS (system), and network - they can be used to quickly assert the status of the player.

See LED page for more details.

Enclosure / casing

Mounting

HMP200 can be mounted using two M5 bolts - see the technical drawing above for exact coordinates of the mounting holes.

§  If the mounting surface is itself well ventilated and/or will help with heat dissipation (e.g. a separate bracket of a display mount) then the player can be mounted flush with the surface, but you should monitor the temperature during use.

§  If the mounting surface is attached to another heat source (e.g. the back panel of a display) then you should use standoffs to allow air to circulate around the player, and monitor the temperature closely.

Identification

Each HMP200 player has a unique serial number that is based on its MAC address. Each player has also a device name, set by default to the player serial number, displayed and configurable within the HMP Control Center interface.

A sticker with the serial number, barcode, model and few other information can be found on the bottom side of each player. This helps to identify the unit and it should not be removed.

Logo and printing

§  Situations may arise where labels or transfers may need to be applied to the player. This is generally not recommended by SpinetiX as the heat generation of the device may be affected.

§  There is almost no risk of a sticker or label removing the logo printed on the player; the printing process used is a special type which results in ink being protected by the outside layer of aluminum itself.

§  Any material affixed to the player must be entirely removable without a trace for the unit to remain within warranty.

Power

The typical power consumption, measured in normal conditions is 7W.

External power supply

§  Input: 100-240V 50-60Hz.

§  Output: 5V DC 3.0A max.

§  Input plug has five interchangeable sets of AC blades for the following power systems: North American, European, United Kingdom, Australian, and China.

Note Warning:

Using an incorrectly rated, third-party power supply can damage your player. Also, the player does not support Power over Ethernet and any voltage on the network cable must be avoided.

Power off

See how to correctly power off the HMP.

Software

Operating System

The operating system is built into the device firmware and is based on the MontaVista Linux Professional Edition 4, with different adaptations and security patches applied specifically for SpinetiX players. The embedded operating system cannot be changed in any way and no other OS can be installed on the player.

See Security page for more details.

Firmware

The firmware governs how the device runs and includes and HMP Control Center. The player’s capabilities are always evolving via firmware upgrades, which are provided free of charge by SpinetiX.

See Firmware page for more details.
