This is an original Womb lounge chair and its accompanying ottoman, models 70L and 74y, designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1948. This example was manufactured in the USA in the 1960s. The piece features a seat that is formed of foam-covered molded fiberglass, and it has tubular chromed-steel legs. It has been newly upholstered in a rich black leather by one of the few upholstery shops in the US known for this work.
The chair measures 34 inches long, 39 inches wide, and 35.5 inches high. It has a seat height of 16 inches, and an arm height of 20.5 inches. Please note that on the dimensions, it seems early examples may have had slightly different dimensions than the current ones. Regardless, it is guaranteed as an authentic and early example with its original label as shown. The chromed-steel legs have a few scratches and scuffs, and the leather is superb with a few small rubs. Overall, this chair is in good condition with very light wear. Please see photos.

We work with a shipper locally who takes great care in their work and has been complemented often on their packing and shipping quality.
