This is a Model 242 MR adjustable Chaise Lounge, originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927. This particular example was produced in 1980 by Knoll International in the USA. The chaise features a thick black leather channel-upholstered cushion that rests atop a tubular steel frame. The cushion is attached to the frame with leather strips which wrap around the 15 belting support straps and are secured with snap buttons. The piece is adjustable. This example is also marked and labelled with Knoll labels, which is very unusual, as the labels often fell off.
The chaise measures 72 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 37 inches high. The seamless stainless steel tubular frame is bright and has no damage. The black leather has some creasing and has developed a nice patina. Overall, this chaise is in good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
