For sale is a set of variant plan view counters for the Japanese 8-8 Fleet Plan and the US War Plan Orange alternate history game. This uses the board from Victory in the Pacific combined with the rules from War at Sea (with land combat rules from VitP.)

The counters are ¾” square, .055” thick (same thickness as AH counters) and die-cut. They are colourful with graphics of the ship counters as seen from above.

This scenario assumes that there was no Washington Naval Treaty and that the Japanese continued with their 8-8 Fleet Plan building program. The US would naturally have countered with their own building program, envisioned in their War Plan Orange brief.

Further it assumes that the Japanese economy would be approaching bankruptcy by 1924, so that they would have to use their fleet to justify the horrendous expense (2/3 of the total government budget.)

Naval aviation would still be in its infancy with no doctrine developed for either side, so it would be a negligible factor, not even useful for scouting. The battleships would have to do the brunt of the fighting.

The game does not use the full extent of the VitP board. Certain bases are neutral; they can be used, but at a penalty.

Included with the counters are guidelines for playing this version of the game, plus OOB cards for each side.
