Coin #1 - Superman Annual #1 (2012)

Released in 2012, Superman Annual 1 was the Man of Steel's first annual within the New 52 universe, which relaunched DC Comics titles in 2011 with revamped storylines. AsSuperman Annual #1's tagline suggests, “The Man of Steel faces an alien extinction” with the return of Helspont, a Daemonite who views humanity as the key to the genetic salvation of his people. Despite Superman's confident pose on the cover–and on the coin's reverse–he and Earth's heroes come under attack. Overpowering Superman, Helspont tells him he is sparing his life becausehe considers Superman to be the defender of his “investment.” With a final, taunting mention of Superman's father, Jor-El, Helspont leaves Superman to ponder his role and this latest threat to humanity:“Everything I've accomplished, every life I've ever saved–what good has it all been if someone so much more powerful than I am can just come and... take it all away?”

Coin #2 - Action Comics #1 (2011)

Released in 2011, the "supersized" Superman Action Comics #1 presented a new, updated take on Superman as part of the relaunch of DC Comics titles; known as The New 52, the titles within each series offer a more modern take on its slate of characters through reimagined storylines, backstories and elements of their costumes.

Coin #3 - Superman Unchained #2 (2013)

July 10, 2013: Superman Unchained #2 is released during Superman's 75th anniversary. It features six variant covers, one of which has been painstakingly reproduced on this coin and gives the impression that Superman is lifting the tank right off the coin!

Coin #4 - Superman #28 (2014)

Superman #28 features a stylistically different approach to its cover, with Superman lifting the title of his own comic book as he “breaks the fourth wall”. Features all the brilliant colour and energy of the original cover!
