This is a great example of one of the classic occurrences of Bisbee. The mines of Bisbee were well known for these malachite after azurite pseudomorphs.
This miniature specimen features the blocky crystals in two vugs of the specimen; on the top and the bottom. They first formed as azurite, now altered to green malachite. Some of the crystals perfectly maintain their original form, almost sharp, while others were more affected by the alteration.
Mining stopped in Bisbee 50 years ago (1975), so these specimens are hard to find today.
