Pair of gilt brass European Gothic Revival pricket candlesticks

Approximate size: 22 (h) x 6 (w) x 5 (d) in.

This pair of nicely cast and chased brass candlesticks feature a triangular-form base with an openwork leaf motif. A fine attention to detail is given in the feet of the candlesticks, which are finely stippled and hatched with texture. The stem and central knops are elegantly realized with a cross-and-star motif set against an eloquently striated ground.

Condition: Minor traces of rubbing to the gilding. The candle pricks appear to have been restored at an earlier date.
