Band of Angels by Robert Penn Warren 1955 HC/DJ 1st/1st Very Good++

There is some shelf wear to the dust jacket with some scuffing, chipping, and tearing. This is now in protective Mylar. The binding is tight and secure with a slight right spinal lean. The tan boards have some yellowing but the titles are still bright and vibrant with very little rubbing. The pages have only minimal age yellowing and they remain bright and clean. Very nice copy! 

About the book:  Warren's Civil War-era Angels offers protagonist Amantha Star, who struggles for freedom of both body and soul. Amantha is thrust into slavery following the death of her white father, who, during his life, had never revealed that her mother was black.
