Between
1870 and the late 20th century, Tobacco Companies issued tobacco rugs.
Rugs were distributed in or on cigarette or tobacco packaging. Some rugs were
constructed with a pile of colored yarns making up the design and trimmed with
fringe on two sides. Others are made from velveteen with the design printed
onto the pile. This Persian-Style Design Tobacco Rug is in good condition, age distressed
and has minor fraying (look under photo magnification). I cannot read the
makers stamp on back except for the third line: “New York”. Makes an excellent
gift for a Tobacciana Collector. Rug Dimensions: 5-1/8” x 3”’. Total Weight: 1 oz.
If you would ever like to make a deal on multiple items, I sell at my eBay store: "Harvest Luna" and to pay only one cost for shipping, I invite you to message or email me at any time.
