Vintage Promotional Herald / Flyer

Up for auction is a vintage souvenir promotional advertising herald or flyer, measuring approximately 5.875 by 3 inches in size (when folded over) and approximately 5.875 by 5.375 inches in size (when laying flat).  Heralds are advertising flyers that are typically placed at theaters, and sometimes included in Playbills and Programs.  This unusual, die cut, single sheet, single fold herald is printed on heavy card stock, is cut out around the heads of the children, and is designed so that when the herald is folded over only the heads and faces of the children are visible.  It is for Maxwell Anderson's "Saturday's Children", featuring Ruth Gordon and Humphrey Bogart, and playing at the Booth Theatre, in New York City, in 1927.

The souvenir herald is in good, vintage condition, with no rips or tears and minimal wear.  However, there is overall soiling throughout;  notations, in pencil, near the bottom of the herald;  and varying degrees of creasing at the neckline of four of the seven children.
