A photo album depicting a trip from Arizona to California in the summer of 1932. The album begins with photos from the Grand Canyon on June 10, 1932. One photo shows the Colorado River with a caption which reads, "one mile below rim of canyon." The photos continue with the group of travelers, most of whom are women, posing around the canyon at Powell Memorial and Hermit's rest. The group continued onward to California with an initial stop in Los Angeles at a friend's home. These photos show family and friends posing around the homes of their Californian friends including Dr. and Mrs. Frank B. Fagerburg, a progressive Baptist minister. While in California they took in the sights with pictures of palm trees and picturesque parks around Los Angeles. They also visited a lion farm and W.K. Kellogg's Arabian Horse ranch. One photo from this outing shows a man riding a horse with the caption, "the horse Rudolph Valentino rode in "The Son of the Sheik." The group then continued on to Idyllwild for a camping trip in August. These photos show the cabin they stayed in which was "elevation 5300 feet," as well as horseback riding and photos of the California mountains. The final section of the album is a collection of commercial photography collected during their trip with images from the lion farm, including the owner bottle-feeding a cub, and a photo of Death Valley. Many of these photos are from a July trip to the Bernheimer Residence and Japanese gardens placed out of order in the album. They include photos of animals, including a small group of elephants, and Japanese pagodas.

An interesting collection of photographs depicting California in the 1930s with some images of the Grand Canyon.
