Celebrating 100 years, The Walt Disney Company was founded in October 1923 by Walt Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney and has developed cult classics spanning generations such as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Aristocats, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story and Finding Nemo. Well-known characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Elsa have also delighted children and adults alike for decades.

The coin’s reverse portrays a coloured hexagonal Disney 100 logo in the centre with round icons surrounding it that all represent major motion pictures and franchises created by Disney. Included on the reverse are the inscriptions ‘Disney 100’ and ‘©Disney’, along with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented by the dates of her reign ‘1952-2022’, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date.
