A FUEL TANK TO PREPARE IT FOR A TANK LINER (TAPOX)

MIX WITH UP TO 9LITRES OF WATER TO MAKE 10 LITRES OF CORROSION REMOVING SOLUTION.

Please may we make you aware that Fertan UK Ltd are, for environmental reasons, in the process of changing all their bottles to natural (clearish) hdpe.  As this process is proceeding we are receiving Fertan's FEDOX in black, white and clearish bottles.  When the situation settles down we'll change the photographs of the bottle.

FEDOX can be used for de-rusting of:
  • Tools and metal parts
  • Casings
  • Turbines and machine parts
  • Interior surface of a tank, et. al.
  • Industrial tooling
FeDOX Rust Remover (Concentrated) was specially developed for de-rusting iron and steel parts and inner tank surfaces.
FeDOX can be diluted in water, with a maximum dilution ratio of 1:10.

To treat parts the diluted FEDOX is put into a tank or bucket and the parts to be derusted are  immersed in the solution. The solution can be heated up to 65°C for faster derusting but household room temperature is fine.The treatment time depends on the thickness of the corrosion. Flash rust is removed within 15-45 minutes while a thicker layer of rust takes up to 12-24 hours of time. Keeping it warm and an occasional stir speeds the process.  Post derusting the components should be washed with water and treated immediately thereafter with Fertan Rust Converter or waxes (ex. Protewax) or primers (ex. FERPOX Epoxy Primer or MM30 Multi Metal Coating).  Tools and machine tools should be oiled or, better, treated with QS9.  When steel or iron is truly clean and free of contaminants it will begin corroding at around the 20 minute mark, that's why doing something quickly is important.

To treat a tank the diluted FEDOX is put into the tank and the tank if moved occasionally to ensure all the surfaces spend time under the solution.  Always keep FEDOX in use as warm as possible for the fastest reaction.

FEDOX is an ideal pre-treatment for Tapox, the tank liner.

Orders received Monday to Friday prior to noon will be dispatched on the day they are received.  This item travels with the Royal Mail as second class post and arrives 2 - 5 days later if you are, like us, in the UK.  In most postcodes at the moment RM are failing to achieve these service levels.
