Product Description
At
a time when Johnny Winter and blues giant Muddy Waters were both facing
hard times, they were hand-picked by Blue Sky Records' owner Steve Paul
to collaborate on Waters' Hard Again album in 1977, a partnership that
culminated in a further four albums. Although this particular
collaboration was short-lived, it has provided blues fans a rare
opportunity to indulge in the work of two hugely important musical
figures whose respect for each other is evidently unflinching. The
subsequent tour left nobody doubting the huge significance of this event
where willing participants included James Cotton and Edgar Winter! Two
live albums, Breakin' It Up, Breakin’ It Down and Muddy Mississippi
Waters Live have captured glimpses of the various concerts from
1977-1978, but here in all of its glory is what many consider to be
their finest two hours together on stage. Timeline revisits this classic
performance at New York's Palladium, March 4th 1977, in its entirety
with a fully restored and professionally remastered original King
Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast. Presented with background notes and
timeline photos.
